Using 100% Blaufrankisch grape variety, which is a great, local, traditional Hungarian variety. Blaufrankisch is not only a very popular variety to cultivate, but is also so telling of the terroir every time.
Hajos Baja is situated in Southern Hungary. It is a medium sized wine region is found in between the towns of Hajos and Baja. Additionally, it is only about 20-30 Km from the perhaps more familiar Szekszárd wine region.
Baja has been an important trading centre between the 16th – 18th centuries, of the Southern regions of Hungary. The Danube River was the main trade route to ship grain & wine to Austria and Germany.
Blaufrankisch Minőségi Vörös Bor
This wine is ruby red in colour. It has a modest alcohol content of 10.5, coupled with it’s pleasant sweetness. Hence, these characters make this wine such a lovely, easy drinking option. Furthermore, this wine boasts a vibrant bouquet of ripe berries, complemented with fruit forward aromas. It is a rather smooth & refreshing wine. Therefore, it is an excellent choice for those who enjoy approachable, aromatic wines. Blaufrankisch Minőségi Vörös Bor showcases a lighter, yet intensely flavourful tasting experience.
It is a beautiful wine to enjoy on its own, or even as a touch of sweetness after a satisfying meal. I can also accompany light dishes
