Description
Thummerer Trefli Cuvee is a unique sweet red wine from Thummerer winery, in the Eger wine region.
Vilmos Thummerer was a well known and talented winemaker from Eger. He was voted Winemaker of the Year in 1995 and his winery was awarded as Winery of the Year in 2011.
The name Tréfli suggests, it was originally made as a kosher wine that reflects a unique origin and history. The residual sugar from the grapes is combined with a low alcohol content. Made from 25% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Blauburger, 20% Kadarka and 15% Turán which is a Hungarian grape variety. Medium bodied wine, with tense aromas of blackurrant, spicy flavours & vibrant acidity. Tréfli Cuvéee is very popular amongst wine fans with a sweet tooth.
Tréfli Cuvee forms an ideal harmony when consumed with desserts made from nuts, hazelnuts and cakes made with red berries. It can however also taste lovely besides red meat and game dishes.
