Description
Kékfrankos (Blaufrankische) is the most widely planted red grape variety in Hungary. Kekfrankos is also the favourite variety of Andras to works with. Not only that his first red wine was made from Kekfrankos, but he also enjoys cultivating it ever since.
It is a variety that can showcase the specific characters of the terroir, and the region very well. Regardless which of its main wine regions, or specific vineyards it comes from, Kekfrankos remains “so local” every time.
Ludanyi Andras Kekfrankos boasts all the typical characteristics of the variety. Ruby red in appearance. The fruity scents and notes are complemented by a touch of oak both on the nose and palate. Well balanced, elegant and nicely rounded wine with velvety tannins. Not least importantly an excellent value for money option!
This Kekfrankos is recommended by the winemaker to pair with Paprika spiced stews – as most traditional Hungarian dishes are – such as Goulash. Alternatively other spicy dishes such as moussaka, wild game stews, spicy stuffed mushrooms, or aubergines.
