Description
Benedek Kékfrankos is a well balanced medium bodied, dry red wine from Mátra, full of black fruits such as plums, and sour cherries & a touch of vanilla.
The family estate is located at the bottom of Mátra mountain at the North of Hungary, with ideal micro climate for the Kékfrankos grapes. Winemaker Peter Benedek aimed for a delicate balance by fermenting 60% in stainless steel tanks, and 40% in oak barrels. The blend is then further matured together for an additional 7 months.
Benedek Kékfrankos has a ruby red gleam, and bright aromas of cherry, almonds, and spiced plums. The palate is silky with redcurrant jam, mixed berries, spice and a hint of vanilla. A very pleasant Kékfrankos from the wine district of Mátra.
This Kékfrankos is ideal to pair with Roast beef in madeira sauce, lamb chops, smoky aubergine dishes, or mushroom risotto
Alc.: 13.0%
