A beautiful example of a Furmint Late Harvest from Babits Winery. Furmint is the most widely planted variety in the Tokaj wine region. It has also become very popular amongst wine fans and sommeliers recently, due to its versatility.
Aged in oak barrel, this Furmint Late Harvest showcases all the quintessential and distinctive bouquets of a beautiful Furmint characters from the Tokaji wine region.
Utterly delightful dessert wine, with outstanding fruitiness. It showcases a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity. Its sugar content is equivalent of a 3 Puttony Tokaji Aszu, with 70 – 80 g/l (depending on the vintage). This Furmint Late Harvest however is not botrytised. It means that it hasn’t got that weighty, oily, syrupy, unctuous mouth feel that is normally comes from Bortysis cinerea.
This Furmint is flawless, and ideally sweet with lovely fruity taste and aromas. Juicy apples, apricot nectar, quince, almond cake, honey, with a touch of caramel, and minerality.
It can stand beautifully on its own, to be enjoyed as a dessert, or it can accompany sweeter dishes.
