Description
Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttony is the “King of wines, and the wine of kings” as the Sun King (Louis XIV of France) said once. He was one of the famous people who was a devoted fan of Tokaji Aszu.
It is also a famous saying that “Tokaji Aszu is the wine of freedom. It shines until the willpower for freedom is alive.”
Babits Winery used Furmint, Harslevelu (Linden leaf), and Muscat Lunel varieties for their 5 puttonyos Aszu. They first wait for specific climatic conditions. For the best results, they need regular autumn morning dew, balanced out with plenty of drying breeze. They then let botrytis cinerea to work its magic on the vines. They then carefully hand harvest the aszu berries, typically around October.
Traditional Tokaji Aszu wine making techniques reach back to hundreds of years.
It shines in a beautiful, clear, light amber glim through the glass. Those very typical, lovely aromas and richness of botrytis are all well present in this wine. It is also rather pleasantly fruity
It is most enjoyable at around 10-12C. Babits Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttony is highly recommended to accompany wild game, liver pate, fruits and light desserts. It is also phenomenal to consume as an aperitif, or enjoy on its own for a special occasion.
