Description
Markvart Kékfrankos / Blaufrankische is a medium bodied, fruity, smooth dry red wine from the Szekszárd wine region.
Kekfrankos is a widely planted, classic grape variety in the region, however it is actually not an easy variety to work with. It requires talent, and the right conditions, including the right soil. Before bottling, Janos Markvart Jnr is winemaker uses neutral (used) barrels, to achieve a creamier, silkier texture for this wine.
Markvart Kekfankos dominates with fruity, cherry, plum & red currant notes, with a hint of dark chocolate & vanilla. Finely integrated tannins & pleasant acidity, certainly a smooth and very great example of a Szekszárd Kékfrankos.
Markvart Kekfrankos will make an excellent accompaniment with medium spiced dishes such as grilled meat and fries, roast lamb and trimmings, jacket potato with cheesy beans, or Italian pasta dishes.
